I’ll never forget my first yoga class at Moksha.  It was an evening class at Moksha Yoga Winnipeg in the dead of a -40 degree winter and I was 19 years old.  The class was warm, lit by candles and full of students. The teacher calmly led us through a series of poses and during the last pose savasana, lying on my mat looking up at the dim lights, I felt like I was camping on the beach.

Yoga really saved me from a youth of chronic pain and joint problems and helped me heal from seasonal depression. Moksha started as a healthy exercise and a stress reliever, and since it’s also become my community, my family and the safe space I know I can go to be greeted with smiles & acceptance.

I started practicing and playing the live music classes for the Moksha communities in Winnipeg and am now a regular live musician for some of the studios in Vancouver. I have studied and taken a 200 hour teacher training in India, a Yin teacher training in Vancouver with Bernie Clark and most recently, the Moksha/Modo Level 1 teacher training in Nicaragua.
